One of his first late-night creations was a small piece of open-source software that enables images and sound to play on the Internet. Jeroen was still in college when his product became the basis for YouTube, which relied on JW Player until it was acquired by Google.
We are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our rapidly growing Data team in our New York City headquarters. The right candidate will relish the opportunity to work with a small focused team to help implement new test processes, automation frameworks, set load/performance benchmarks, and put us on the path to a continuous integration environment.
Work closely with the Data Product and Engineering teams to define acceptance criteria and build detailed test plans Work towards a goal of designing and implementing complete end-to-end testing of our big data systems including our RESTful Python API Collaborate with the data team to understand how development changes affect ongoing automation efforts Continuously look for areas to introduce and improve automated testing Develop and maintain load and performance test frameworks for massive big data applications Work as part of the data team using agile methodologies to help deliver quality product on schedule.
2-3+ years experience implementing testing frameworks for testing data-rich applications or data warehouse solutions Working knowledge of backend languages (Java), and scripting languages (Python) Successful track record of implementing automation tools and frameworks from scratch Experience with automation frameworks such as Selenium/WebDriver, Cucumber, etc. Experience using and configuring continuous integration tools (Jenkins). Experience working with AWS Cloud services Experience using source code control tools (Git) Strong SQL skills Comfortable with Unix-style tools and the CLI Skilled in analyzing feature requests/requirements, and determining potential tests that should be created Ability to learn new technologies, tools, and processes quickly

You’ve held a developer role in the past Load/Performance testing experience Experience with Big Data tools, such as Hadoop/MapReduce, Storm/Trident, Avro, Hive Experience with test-driven development (TDD), and/or behavior driven development (BDD) Comfortable multitasking between several projects and releases Experience with NoSql technologies such as MongoDB
