Responsibilities
* Satisfy portfolio management needs for assigned sector: database accuracy, reporting, analysis, dashboards, risk management, and data driven decision making. * Work with cross functional team to plan and manage several large scale, high priority projects. * Guide and faciliate project teams through GSDO project work flow process and ensure that activities are properly completed for each milestone. * Lead direct reports that will assist in managing projects and achieving PMO goals for assigned sector. * Partner closely with GSDO sector leads to develop portfolio strategies and solutions in an environment of limit resources and exciting project challenges. * Assist in developing yearly business plan for assigned sector, which includes project scope information, resource capacity analysis, and budgeting. * Develop strong relationships with peer groups and key stakeholders outside of GSDO, to be able to integrate GSDO PMO into partner processes and systems. * Continually improve and strengthen PMO's ability to help GSDO succeed, by developing strategies and implementing new portfolio management systems or workflow procedures. * Share and learn best practices within J&J PMO community.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree required. * An advanced degree (MA, MS, MBA) is a plus. * A minimum of 8 years’ experience required, in two or more of the following functional areas preferred: engineering, IT, research and development, planning, marketing and/or operational function. * A demonstrated history of managing complexity and analytical thinking required. * An individual with direct experience in new product development thru launch for consumer products, in a fast paced environment preferred. * Minimum of 4 years of experience demonstrating and utilizing Project Management and Product Lifecycle Management practices for large scale projects strongly preferred. * Experience managing a portfolio of projects using Microsoft Project and a Microsoft Project Server highly desired. * Experience, training and/or certification in Six Sigma/Process Excellence Tools, Agile and/or Scrum preferred. * Project Management Training and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certified experience is preferred. * Candidate should have solid business knowledge, sound judgment, strong technical, communication, leadership, influencing, and change management skills.
