Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities: - Participate in customer quote of new programs to provide technical support toward the use of company preferred technology. - Initiate and manage completion of the Manufacturing Sign Off document (MSO) throughout launch phases of new programs. - Jointly with the simultaneous development team, conduct a risk assessment to insure the new product design, meet manufacturing needs (DFAM). - Initiate and manage the manufacturing open issues list throughout launch phases of new programs. - Identify critical and significant characteristics of new product to launch and quote error proof systems to be installed for start of production. - Provide support in site during the manufacturing of prototypes at our manufacturing plants. - Operational approval of trim design release packages and manufacturing standards of current and new programs. - Work with suppliers of new technologies to support implementation of innovative concepts in our products and process. - Explore and identify opportunities to vertically integrate outsourced process to company supply chain. - Some international travel will be required.
Ideal Candidate
Job Qualifications: - BS in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering. - Minimum 5 + years automotive experience in seating as trim product engineer or trim design engineer. - Working knowledge of Product Design Process (Tolerances, DFMEA, Datum Schemes, etc.) - Working knowledge of Quality Problem Solving Tools (PFMEA, KT, 8D’s, Pareto chart, Fishbone diagram, etc.) - Computer literate ( Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook) - Green Belt Certified - Working knowledge of High Frequency Embossment ( Desirable) Interpersonal Skills: - Ability to work effectively across cultures, in a global environment. - Ability to develop and maintain positive and productive relationship with internal and external customers. - Influence team members from other functional areas. (SDT simultaneous development teams members). - Analytical problem solving. - Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments.
