Patient Care Attendant - Behavioral Health Center

The eBusiness group at John Muir Health is a dynamic, well-organized team that is passionate about creating innovative web and mobile products that will revolutionize healthcare delivery. In just the past three years, we’ve created a new team, launched a patient portal, a mobile app, a physician portal, and are building innovative applications while fully committed to Agile philosophies that will raise the bar on how healthcare is delivered.

Participates in 1:1 care of the patient on a assigned unit. Conducts care in a manner which is consistent with the written philosophy and objectives of the hospital. Provides 1:1 care which is therapeutically effective and promotes patient safety and welfare. Communicates information well with RN and other team members. Is receptive to supervisory feedback, utilizing it effectively.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be an enrolled RN nursing student in an accredited nursing program.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Self-motivated, able to initiate tasks as instructed and carry out directions or instructions, both written and verbal.
• Able to speak English clearly and write legibly.
• Ability to record messages and keep simple records.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).

EXPERIENCE:

• Has completed psychiatric nursing rotation in school.
• Has obtained recommendation from nursing instructor for working in a psychiatric setting.
• Bachelor’s degree and at least one year’s previous experience working or volunteering in a mental health inpatient setting may be considered in lieu of completing psychiatric nursing rotation.
• Must provide a letter of recommendation from nursing instructor regarding clinical skills and demonstrated abilities.
