As a Tool Designer for John Deere Power Systems, located in Coffeyville, KS, you will design tools and fixtures that are high quality, safe to use and provide quality parts to our customers. In addition, you will:
- Consolidate parts and tooling to reduce the setup time from one job to the next.
- Determine the most effective way to position and fixture parts for machining and assembly.
- Develop the design and spec components.
- Request quotes and choose the supplier for build.
- Crosstrain with the CNC programming area.
We need an excellent communicator, who thrives on solving problems and working in a team environment. Ideally, you will have a Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering/Technology discipline or 3+ years of apprenticeship experience. In addition, we require:
- Experience with machining and assembly tool and fixture design.
- Engineering knowledge of materials properties.
- Proficiency with ProE and/or AutoCAD.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 25%.
A strong candidate will also have:
- Experience with manufacturing and production processes.
- Working knowledge of CNC programming.
