As an Fabricator with JBT AeroTech, you will complete all outlined duties and job responsibilities of a Fabricator in an efficient and professional manner.
- Set up and operate various manual metal processing machines with some exposure to CNC machine operations.
- Perform routine quality inspections of items produced in the Fabrication department using various appropriate measuring devices.
- Complete required documentation (check sheets, material movement paperwork).
- Resolve routine questions and problems.Refers more complex issues to team manager or senior Fabricator.
- Understand, adhere to, and participate in all aspects of Lean Enterprise as it pertains to JBT (focusing on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost).
- Participate in JBT’s Relentless Continuous Improvement efforts by identifying and submitting, to the team manager, a minimum of (3) opportunities for improvements per year.
- Perform all duties in a safe manner and keeps all employees aware of dangers in work area.
- Use material handling equipment to move parts, components from one work center, department, or storage area to another as required.
- Follow Safety, Health, Environment, and Hazardous Waste Rules and Responsibilities.
- Practice good housekeeping in work area.
- Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Technical / vocational / or military training or related experience is helpful.
- Weld experience / training is not required, but is desired.
- Appropriate moving vehicle certifications, overhead and jib certification, machine operation and basic preventative maintenance of machines, and Mig welding.
- Work and excel in a fast paced, team oriented environment. Ability to multi-task and effectively communicate with team members is a MUST.
- Quickly adapt to revised work assignments on weekly / daily / hourly basis depending on what business needs dictate.
- Take direction and communicate effectively with team manager or higher level authority
- Understand daily performance objectives, perform to meet those objectives and report constraints to team manager.
- Ability to comprehend blueprints and be able to understand written engineering procedures.
- Ability to use personal computer and / or workstation.
- Ability to use hand and air tools, measuring devices, cranes, and assembly fixtures.
- Ability to effectively use various measuring devices (calipers, tape measures, micrometers, etc.)
- Ability and willingness to learn and utilize mig welding process’.
- Ability to multi-task.
