Summary

The primary focus of the Business Development Representative is to educate partners and potential customers through articulating the exciting capabilities of InterSystems’ products. Successful Business Development Representatives nudge stakeholders and decision makers at targeted prospect accounts through careful communication. You represent the beginning of software sales at InterSystems, on a collaborative team that develops strategic startups to enterprise level accounts.

Responsibilities
  • Contact and market to assigned target accounts about InterSystems’ software products and their functions
  • Utilize a wide variety of communication including, but not limited to, cold-calls, inbound calls, warm follow-ups, and email exchanges
  • Partner with the Sales Team to develop and conduct prospecting strategies
  • Provide feedback and recommendations on marketing efforts based on real front-line interactions
  • Achieve yearly quota for leads generated/handed off to Sales Team (Sales Qualified Opportunities)
  • Conduct industry research to find potential sales opportunities
  • Uncover pain points and needs of potential customers
  • Follow-up on marketing-generated inbound leads and inquiries
  • Manage a pipeline utilizing Salesforce to track activity and updates
  • Attend industry events to represent InterSystems and the Business Development Team
Ideal Candidate
  • Collaborative spirit with the both the Business Development and the Sales Teams
  • Goal oriented and self-motivated
  • Passion for learning new technology and software products
  • Experience with and interest in healthcare, finance, and/or software sales is a plus

Education and Training:

  • 0-3 years of business development/sales experience
  • Experience qualifying and selling software or technology products to companies over the phone
  • Experience in a B2B sales environment
  • Fluency with both Mac and PC environments, Salesforce CRM (or equivalent) and MS Office
