- Assures regulatory compliance of all labels, cases and promotional material with applicable rules and regulations of USDA & FDA
- Reviews and approves ingredient statements – confirming all ingredients to ensure regulatory compliance and potential allergen concerns
- Contacts suppliers for ingredient information – raw material specification sheets
- Learns the operations to provide technical support to production, QA, R&D, sales, consumer affairs, and customers
- Gains USDA approval on all applicable products and obtain extensions when required
- Provides proper documentation on short notice to ensure that all products may be released to sell in a timely manner
- Creates product specifications for all products and keeps them up-to-date
- Maintains documentation of work as required
- Maintains a safe working environment and participates actively in safety programs
- Monitors all HACCP requirements and regulations
- Performs other duties as assigned by manager
- Bachelor of Science degree in food science or at least 5 years of experience in the food manufacturing industry
- 1-4 years of related experience with a food or beverage company in regulatory compliance
- Critical knowledge of USDA/ FDA regulations
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills; team player
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced, environment
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office—Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Knowledge of CFIA regulation a plus!
