As an Ecommerce Production Designer, you will be working in a team of Web Design professionals with a passion for elegant, forward-thinking, modern design. HERO takes design seriously and believes that designers have a significant voice at the table in defining any successful digital initiative. As a team member, you will be collaborating with client services; project management, strategy and engineering to develop original design concepts, and guide projects from concept to launch. You will start on a specific client project, onsite at client's headquarter in the South San Francisco Bay Area (Shuttle provided). We are open to both longer term contractors and direct hires.
- Develop innovative visual designs, screen layouts, navigation systems, user interface elements, typography and color palettes
- Create clean, effective design solutions for simple or complex user tasks
- Work in an agile, rapid development and prototyping environment where effective communication is paramount
- Lead and collaborate with interdisciplinary project teams, provide art direction to other designers and work with producers and technologists to implement designs into technology
- 5+ years professional experience designing outstanding responsive websites
- Ability to create clean, effective and innovative visual design systems across devices and media types
- Strong up to date body of work and online portfolio (this is a must-have) that is impressive on immediate impression
- Expert knowledge in UI principles, graphic design principles, and web standards
- Experience designing transaction flows
- Purchase flow optimization a plus
- Retail or consumer electronic experience a plusAbility to work well cross functionally and make appropriate trade-offs to meet time constraints
- Experience in leading and collaborating with interdisciplinary project teams, providing support to other designers, and working with engineers to implement designs into technology
- Excellent leadership, communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience and desire to work within a fast-paced, iterative development environment; experience with - Agile a strong plus.
- Fluency in Adobe Photoshop and/or Fireworks and a solid knowledge of HTML/CSS and prototyping tools.
- Degree in graphic design, human-computer interaction, interaction design, or other relevant experience
- US Work Permit required.
- Ability to work at client's site in South Bay
