About Hendrickson

Hendrickson is a designer and manufacturer of suspension systems and components for heavy-duty trucks.

Summary

Lead efforts to strengthen the welding programs in the Hebron, Ohio plant, overseeing tooling, equipment and fixturing needs for all product lines.

Responsibilities
  • Design, procurement and implementation of fabrication, welding and assembly systems, and associated tooling
  • Manage the welding automation project with minimal supervision
  • Development and maintenance of welding processes and related fabrication processes
  • Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance routines for all welding equipment
  • Develop, implement and improve automated welding programs for all the robotic applications
  • Continual improvement of process and product quality
  • Develop and manage method improvements and cost reductions
  • Project performance measurement
  • Support Maintenance department with equipment troubleshooting
  • Develop and implement mistake-proofing devices
  • Improve manual welding overall effectiveness. Lead efforts to improve the skills and knowledge of our welding personnel as necessary
Ideal Candidate

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6+ years’ experience in manufacturing or related field as a weld engineer
  • Formal training in robotic systems, metal fabrication and arc welding is required.
  • Experience in manufacturing engineering in a metal working and fabricating environment.
  • Hands-on experience in tooling, fixturing and methods is required.
  • A working knowledge of CAD and CAM technology is a strong positive.
  • Experience in automated welding and metallurgical analysis a plus.
  • Experience in analytical trouble shooting techniques.
  • An understanding of the performance effects of welded joint configurations is required.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Good communication and personal skills.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis
  • 50% of time spent stooping, kneeling, walking, and standing

Environmental Conditions

Must be able to work in areas without climate controls

  • Communicate effectively with employees at various levels of the organization
