Manufacturing Engineer

Hendrickson is a designer and manufacturer of suspension systems and components for heavy-duty trucks.

Primary focus will be the kitting lines and associated assembly in plant 1, Provide Industrial Engineering support to Plant 1, Plant 3 and New Products. Responsibility for Plant layout in both facilities.

• Assist product launch teams with Industrial Engineering support
• Improve manufacturing capabilities and capacities
• Validate routers for specified work centers
• Analyze existing procedures & processes for improvements
• Develop and maintain operator work instructions for Kitting/Distribution operations and assigned Assembly Cells.
• Support Kitting and Packaging lines, Beam and Saddle Assembly/Kitting
• Plant Layout
• Define future technology requirements
• Assist in defining long-range capital planning
• Selection, justification and implementation of packaging equipment
• Refinement of kitting process through material and methods optimization

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 3-5 years kitting, assembly or distribution experience required
• Ability to manage, prioritize and complete multiple tasks on a time bound schedule required.
• Background in team approach to problem solving required
• Working knowledge of labor and machining standards preferred
• Working knowledge of plant layout & cell manufacturing preferred
• Automotive/transportation industry experience preferred
• Knowledge of TS16949 preferred
• Experience with lean manufacturing environments required
• AutoCad, Solid Edge, MSOffice, Mpact, or similar software/programming experience a plus
• Capital equipment procurement background a plus
• Machining experience a plus
