Summary

As a System Support Analyst with GREIF, you will be responsible for maintaining the performance, monitoring and availability of the company’s Windows/Linux servers to meet the business requirements. this includes Windows NT/2000 services, workstations and laptops as well as Antivirus software throughout the organization. It also encompasses the Operating Systems of the IBM AS/400 iSeries to include but not limited to the OS/400, AIX, Linux & Windows. You will handle testing and implementation of new hardware and software required by the company, in tandem with providing end-user support.

Responsibilities
  • Investigate and respond to user help request, questions and problems.
  • Install and modify operating system software and fixes on a regular basis.
  • Consolidate servers as required to keep the number of servers at a minimum.
  • Keep Anti-Virus and Network Security systems current and updates applied globally.
  • Review performance to detect potential problems before they occur.
  • Install and test new hardware and software where required.
  • Keep current with changes in technologies.
  • Provide IT expertise as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate

Education

  • Technical Degree/Certificate in Computer Information Science preferred.

Work Experience

  • 5-7 years experience in Windows based server/network support and AS/400 environment.
  • 5+ years experience in Windows, OS/400, AIX, and Linux operating systems preferred.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Advanced knowledge in the application and administration of Windows/Linux servers and workstations.
  • Advanced knowledge in the application and administration of AS/400 operating systems OS/400, AIX, Linux and Windows.
  • Knowledge of anti-virus software.
  • Demonstrated skills in both verbal and written communications, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated skills in time management and project management.
  • Ability to perform with minimal supervision.
