GDC is currently recruiting for an Oracle Database Administrator in the Norfolk, VA area.
- Configuring and maintenance of Oracle
- Run batch script processing
- Troubleshooting data and table issues
- New Oracle installations
- Understanding of VPD
- Experience with middleware such as moving from OAS to Weblogic a plus
- Information Assurance; installing patches and updates and evaluating and responding to STIGS, IAVA Certs and Bulletins
- Applying best practices for tuning for overall system performance
- Monitoring system performance, make recommendations as applicable, including SQL tuning
- Support development teams with database object creation, PL*SQL, procedures, triggers, etc.
- Configure and operate backup software and systems
- Experience with PL/SQL
- Knowledge of Oracle Data Guard desired
- Ability and willingness to communicate with end users and management
- Expertise in migrating data from one datacenter to another using Oracle in both locations
