Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc. is one of the world’s leading vertically integrated producers, marketers and distributors of high-quality fresh and fresh-cut fruit and vegetables, as well as a leading producer and distributor of prepared fruit and vegetables, juices, beverages and snacks in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. .

This position will be responsible for the procurement of goods for location. In this role, will also serve as a liaison between Del Monte and its vendors when seeking to research, evaluate, and negotiate purchases.

• Negotiate prices and make purchase for location.
• Process purchase orders, and follow up with vendors and end-users throughout the procurement process.
• Report and escalate any potential purchase order issues, as related to non-compliance on lead times, need-by-dates, and price increases.
• Evaluate bids, and make decisions, based on commercial and technical factors.
• Verify all vendor costs, quality and levels of service.
• Identify potential suppliers.
• Develop market knowledge and contacts for new and alternate products.
• Conduct research to ascertain market trends and needs.
• Comply with all purchasing policies and procedures.
• Create reports and statistics to analyze trends as needed.

Minimum Skills Required:

• 4 year College Degree, from an accredited institution, and/or equivalent work experience.
• 2 years of International purchasing experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Excel, Word and Outlook).
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize.

Preferred but not Essential:

• Oracle platform experience.
• Bi-lingual: Spanish and English.
