- Responsible for the design and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that quality standards are met during
- Manage the plant Quality Control staff to ensure compliance with all quality criteria, create and/or maintain and manage
- appropriate paper/electronic documentation.
- Advise production management of pending issues, new regulations, etc., in a timely manner.
- Develop and institute training programs for Quality Control staff and production management staff to ensure these
- employees have current information in regards to new regulations.
- Participate in R&D projects for design implementation and audit programs.
- Additional Job Functions:
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science related field Advanced Degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of progressively responsible management of quality issues in a food processing industry with a broad range of
- experience with USDA.
- Demonstrated knowledge of HACCP, SPC, and SSOP’s. Must have the ability to make sound judgment and good decisions
- regarding quality and wholesomeness of product.
- Must be detailed oriented. Have strong mathematical and analytical aptitude.
- Proficient use of PC including Excel, Word, Access, and Power point.
- Possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to work with minimum direction.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills. Must be able to stand for prolong periods of time on concrete/metal grate floor.
- Able to work flexible hours.
- Reliable transportation in order to attend off-site meetings. Ability to travel due to business needs.
- Able to prioritize/adjust quickly to changing work environment with minimal supervision to meet changing plant needs.
- Strong Leadership. Managerial Skills and the ability to coach and develop employees.
