Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the design and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that quality standards are met during
  • Manage the plant Quality Control staff to ensure compliance with all quality criteria, create and/or maintain and manage
  • appropriate paper/electronic documentation.
  • Advise production management of pending issues, new regulations, etc., in a timely manner.
  • Develop and institute training programs for Quality Control staff and production management staff to ensure these
  • employees have current information in regards to new regulations.
  • Participate in R&D projects for design implementation and audit programs.
  • Additional Job Functions:
  • Other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science related field Advanced Degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of progressively responsible management of quality issues in a food processing industry with a broad range of
  • experience with USDA.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HACCP, SPC, and SSOP’s. Must have the ability to make sound judgment and good decisions
  • regarding quality and wholesomeness of product.
  • Must be detailed oriented. Have strong mathematical and analytical aptitude.
  • Proficient use of PC including Excel, Word, Access, and Power point.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to work with minimum direction.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills. Must be able to stand for prolong periods of time on concrete/metal grate floor.
  • Able to work flexible hours.
  • Reliable transportation in order to attend off-site meetings. Ability to travel due to business needs.
  • Able to prioritize/adjust quickly to changing work environment with minimal supervision to meet changing plant needs.
  • Strong Leadership. Managerial Skills and the ability to coach and develop employees.
