Responsibilities

Position Summary

Reporting to the Social Media Assistant Director the Social Media Specialist will be responsible for day-to-day management of FITZ & CO’s social media identity (internal social media), analytics and reporting (both from internal and client campaigns), and occasional support of client social media campaigns and marketing projects.

Primary Functions

  • Continually develop and convey FITZ & CO’s unique brand voice through a variety of social media platforms. (Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn)
  • Develop social media campaigns for clients based on individual scopes, create unique / transform available content, and share on FITZ & CO’s channels to amplify results, generate conversation, and spread key client news.
  • Analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of social media campaigns in an effort to maximize results.
  • Spur more interaction between FITZ & CO and the art world on social media to maintain visibility, raise awareness, grow our following, and market the firm, its clients and service offerings.
  • Maintain all FITZ & CO social media platforms to ensure imagery, information, community, and settings reflect current agency positioning.
  • Help develop the FITZ & CO social media presence, expand content capabilities, and grow fans and followers.
  • Act as a brand advocate of FITZ & CO on behalf of both the company and the social media department, at the office and in the field.

Essential Job Functions:

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

Internal Social Media Strategy:

  • Develop and maintain internal social media infrastructure designed to support all related FITZ & CO social media activity.
  • Manage master calendar and curate content to meet the objectives of individual client campaigns and internal social media strategy.
  • Manage all content related to active client campaigns including press releases, media placements, special events, and user-generated activity.
  • Liaise with staff to ensure key client information (applicable to social media) is shared between teams.
  • Produce social media content based on 1) client scopes and approved media; 2) #teamFITZ contributions; 3) internal marketing / new biz initiatives; and 4) art world news / happenings for FITZ & CO’s channels 5) live / special events
  • Manage community, and monitor company and client accounts and mentions on various social platforms.
  • Utilize social media tools to publish and schedule content; measure analytics; discover content, etc.
  • Generate social media monthly activity reports and analytical snapshots for select clients.
  • Track and measure internal social media analytics and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Support the continual development of “social media” product offering to clients, e.g. Tiered pricing packages, a la carte services, Facebook ads, etc.
  • Research the online presence of competitors and influencers and continually differentiate FITZ & CO.
  • Inform managers of potential sources of new business based on online trends.
  • Help identify and engage topic influencers, brand advocates, social sites and relevant content around Art & Culture.
  • Stay abreast of industry news and benchmarks. Client Social Media:
  • Provide organizational and content development support on client social media campaigns.

Client Marketing:

  • Develop offering around Google Analytics

Internal Marketing:

  • Monitor and analyze website analytics, generate insights, provide recommendations to Marketing team.
  • Perform website updates as needed

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Social Media Internship program
Ideal Candidate
  • College graduate with 1–3 years of professional experience in social media, communications, and fine arts, preferably at a PR/marketing agency or major arts organization.
  • Ability to measure and analyze social media metrics (platform growth and engagement). Must feel comfortable with and be proficient using Microsoft Excel and Google Spread Sheets.
  • Proven track record managing social media campaigns on major platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, and LinkedIn.
  • Experience creating visual and dynamic social media content preferred.
  • Independent self-starter; ambitious hard-worker.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Previous agency experience is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Mac-savvy.
  • Technical skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, Adobe Photoshop.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed primarily in the FITZ & CO New York office.
  • Team members are required to be available often before and after company’s normal office hours (M-F, 10-6), and on weekends.
  • Must adopt and make daily use of office systems such as time tracking (Harvest) and CRM (Salesforce).
