Summary

Farmigo is seeking a Director of Communications to take the lead on telling the inspiring story of how Farmigo’s producers, organizers, and members are working together to revolutionize the food system. If you’re an experienced communications professional with a love of food and a passion to do big things, we want to hear from you!

Farmigo is a mission-driven startup with an ambitious goal: to make local, sustainably produced food more accessible and affordable in every community. We’re an online farmers market that helps consumers buy food directly from the best local farmers and foodmakers.

Your mission will be to develop and direct Farmigo’s national media profile and public relations strategy. This position reports to the VP, Marketing, and is a senior member of the marketing team.

Responsibilities
  • Develop strategies, goals, and metrics for a national, high-impact communications program
  • Lead media relations and strategic communications programs to attract prominent and repeated regional or national media attention.
  • Help to build a beloved brand, through media relations, media campaigns, and other communication strategies.
  • Guide the development of tools and resources to empower Farmigo’s producers and organizers to tell their own story to local media.
Ideal Candidate
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in PR, communications, or similar.
  • Experience in building consumer-facing brands, with particular weight given to experience in fast-growing start-ups or food companies.
  • An ability to use data and metrics to analyze the tangible impact of media outreach on Farmigo’s core KPIs.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • A passion for Farmigo’s mission of creating a food system that’s better for all of us.
