Backend Engineer

• Partnering with the analytics team to architect and build Euclid’s big data pipeline
• Building tools and services to maintain a robust, scalable data service layer
• Working with lambda architectures

Requirements:

• Excellent knowledge of Scala, Java, or other modern systems languages
• Database management (MySQL, Redis, Cassandra, Redshift, MemSQL)
• Experience with big data infrastructure including Spark, Mesos, Scalding and Hadoop
• Excited about data flow and orchestration with tools like Kafka and Spark Streaming
• At least 2 years industry experience in a full time role
• B.S. or equivalent in Computer Science or another technical field

In addition, it would be great if:

• You have worked with Spark, Pig, Hive, Summingbird, Scalding, Parquet or similar frameworks
• Have experience building production deployments using Amazon Web Services or Heroku’s Cloud Application Platform
• You eat REST APIs for lunch
