1951: Land-Air, Inc., which became the predecessor to DynCorp International’s Maintenance and Technical Support Services (MTSS) Division, reached a major milestone in 1951 with the award of the first Contract Field Teams (CFT) contract by the Air Force Logistics Command (AFLC).
The Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor supervises day-to-day aircraft maintenance tasks on assigned facilities, equipment and machinery in support of line maintenance activities and GSE equipment.
- Coordinates and supervises activities of personnel, determining specific work assignments.
- Schedules and manages aircraft related maintenance and repairs per the maintenance program requirements, as well as to support equipment.
- Ensures all work is scheduled and performed in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ensures all maintenance documents are properly signed off and entered into the appropriate MOB maintenance database.
- Responsible for compliance with all program and regulatory requirements. Ensures direct reports are fully compliant with all approved procedures.
- Provide technical training and assistance as needed.
- Responsible for tool and warranty programs, maintaining equipment maintenance schedules on all company equipment and monitoring parts and supply inventories.
- Ensures availability of materials, anticipating requirements and reordering.
- Offers technical guidance follow-up of maintenance programs.
- Performs quality assurance on repairs and maintenance to all aircraft, equipment and facilities.
- Identifies outside shops (machine shops, etc.) to perform specialty or time effective work.
- Identifies material and special tooling needs to accomplish the daily work assignment.
- Provides employees with proper training on company equipment as required by OSHA Regulations.
- May lead and direct a group of two or more individuals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience & Education
- High school education or equivalent. An associate’s degree or trade license preferred
- Five (5) years’ experience in a maintenance environment.
Knowledge & Skills
- Aviation related line maintenance experience.
- Knowledge of FAA and government aviation maintenance requirements.
- Working knowledge of fire protection codes, building and electrical codes, OSHA and company requirements.
- Knowledge of safe working techniques and procedures.
- Ability to plan and schedule maintenance work requirements.
- Excellent communication, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to use a computer.
- Valid driver’s license
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
- Must be able to walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces up to three (3) hours per day and sit for up to five (5) hours per day.
- May be required to lift up to 30 lbs. to the height of 4 feet and up to 20 lbs. to a height of 7 feet.
- May be required to carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds.
- On occasion must be able to lift up to 80 pounds.
- Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp, or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
- Must be able to routinely climb / descend stairs.
Working Conditions
Travel: As dictated by business necessity.
