Acts as regional, project plan coordinator for all new and relocation projects. Oversees site and building design of “conventional” and “build to suit” projects and coordinates with store support and field team members to ensure that they align with Dollar General’s, construction, operations and merchandising standards. Reviews and approves landlord/developer submitted plans against Dollar General’s prototype expectations.
- Coordinates the building and site design of “conventional”, site specific criteria plans to be in compliance with all of Dollar General’s standards. Researches the scope-of-work, site / building survey, cost estimate, photos, REC comments and partners with the Project Manager and Real Estate team to develop optimal construction criteria documents
- Provides site plan design oversight and site submittal review and approval on all “build-to-suit” projects. Assists the real estate team, developers and construction team with all site related coordination.
- Reviews and approves landlord/developer submitted “conventional” and “build-to-suit” building plans to ensure that Dollar General’s criteria and operational objectives are met.
- Provides access to and coordination of the Dollar General prototype, plan documents for all regional development projects.
- Assists the construction team, contractors, developers, architects, and landlords in the clarification and resolution of project technical questions.
- Ability to develop, design and communicate site plans, floor plans and specifications
- Knowledge of construction industry terminology, and design documents, as well as the ability to read and understand construction and lease documents; working knowledge of ADA codes
- Thorough knowledge of AutoCAD software, Adobe Professional, and word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications, MS Office tools
- Knowledge of SLM (Store Lifecycle Management) or equal project management tools preferred
- Customer driven, dependable, proficient in organization and time management skills
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment with a high sense of urgency and minimal supervision
- High level of accuracy and detail orientation
- Ability to arrive at sound decisions in a timely manner while remaining knowledgeable of how decisions impact other areas of the company
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
- Ability to effectively communicate and work with people at all levels
Qualifications
Associates degree or technical school education in the design and/or construction field, with AutoCad proficiency. Minimum of 2 - 3 years related experience in design and / or construction required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
