Assistant Development Manager

Specific responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following:
- Manage or assist with all aspects of development, including: pre-development, entitlements, consultant coordination, design and construction team oversight, leasing and sales;
- Support new development acquisitions, due diligence and project financing;
- Develop, update and manage project schedules and budgets;
- Assist in reviewing legal documentation and contracts for all aspects of development;
- Assist in preparing regular project updates to Investors;
- Work collaboratively with project team members to set, enforce and accomplish project goals;
- Communicate project challenges to team members; research and present solutions;
- Assist in reviewing and negotiating contracts with consultants and contractors;
- Assist in reviewing construction plans, RFIs and submittals;
- Assist in managing agency approval and permitting process;
- Convene regular and ad-hoc meetings as required to meet project goals and solve challenges;
- Research and analyze any aspect of real estate development business in order to facilitate project or strategic decision making and present findings to senior management; and
- Maintain and enforce organization and communication across disciplines.
- Two to four years of project management experience, with ground-up development experience in New York City preferred;
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, engineering, architecture, real estate development or related field;
- Ability to manage a variety of tasks within a tight time schedule;
- Excellent quantitative, analytical, written and oral communication skills;
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office;
- Strong work ethic and highly developed problem solving skills;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Ability to think creatively and contribute to meeting project goals; and
- Enjoy working under time constraints and ability to excel under pressure.
