We are looking for a Sr. Manager, Total Rewards to assess, design and implement a total rewards strategy and compensation and benefits programs. As an accomplished business leader with a strategic mindset and willingness to "roll up your sleeves”, you will bring a strong sense of what excellence in HR looks like, as well as possess effective relationship skills, gravitas and style.
This is a high impact role driving best practices across the organization. You will report to our our VP, People.
- Provide vision and leadership to total rewards at Counsyl
- Provide thought leadership that will ensure we meet our goals of attracting, engaging and retaining the best talent in the industry
- Plan, develop and implement compensation and benefits programs.
- Ensure the programs are market competitive and aligned with our culture and business goals and consistently administered and in compliance with company philosophy and government regulations
- Research and develop strategy for total rewards programs. Prepare talking points to educate our managers and employees on the "deal". Create manager tool kits and set guidelines.
- Prepare qualitative and quantitative analytics in collaboration with Finance to support cost effective benefit programs, including proposals for program changes, utilization, vendor performance, trends and program analysis
- Provide expertise and guidance to other members of the HR team, including HR business Partners and Recruiting; advise HR and Managers on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretations, job evaluations and provide appropriate solutions to complex problems
- Drive programs to address business issues related to areas such as performance management, development and retention
- Oversee the compensation administration process including the planning and implementation of annual salary reviews, merit increases, promotion process and equity programs
- Lead and facilitate the definition of job evaluation and classifications
- Conduct research and analysis of compensation data, model financial impact of compensation plans and programs and prepare recommendations to support business objectives
- Monitor compensation and benefits trends in the competitive market and ensure our total reward programs are designed to attract and retain high performers/key talent
- Prepare materials and may actively participate in Compensation Committee meetings inclusive of the Board of Directors
- Lead the design, implementation, maintenance of HR Technology
- Partner with the People Ops team and others to develop, execute, and communicate key benefits and compensation programs
- Assure compliance with local, state and federal regulations
- Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field. An MBA preferred
- 7+ years of compensation & benefits experience, preferably for a growing company; pre-IPO experience helpful. Experience in life sciences and/or tech company desired
- Demonstrated experience in compensation analysis, trends, HRIS & best practices CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) and/or PHR (professional human resources) certifications are a strong plus
- Highly analytical with the ability to evaluate complex data and make recommendations
- Experience working with compensation structures, job evaluation process and benchmark salary data
- Advanced Excel, Word, and Google docs skills
- Knowledge of cloud based technologies; including file servers and data management tools
- Strong knowledge of EEOC regulations, FSLA, wage and hour laws
- Ability to quickly establish credibility to partner effectively with business leaders and HR colleagues to define and deliver effective processes, programs and tools that support the business goals
- Ability to see the bigger picture, question assumptions and existing ways of doing things and execute flawlessly to evolve our compensation and benefits programs to drive employee engagement and retention
- Proven strong leadership skills and the ability to influence across all levels and functions of an organization
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, including the ability to tailor materials to match the level of the audience
