Conversant’s business is based on analysis of anonymized data at internet scale, and is used in evaluating more than 1 trillion advertising opportunities per month – in real-time. As a Computer Scientist within our R&D organization, you will research, build, and improve large-scale parallel applications based on graph and network algorithms to extend Conversant’s personalization platform. You will use a state-of-the-art technology stack including Apache Spark and Scala running on large clusters. You will work on real-world problems as part of our highly collaborative R&D team, and your work will directly and rapidly impact our business.

• Develop an understanding of Conversant’s personalization platform
• Perform R&D to understand and organize patterns of internet activity
• Develop and optimize highly parallel algorithms on internet-scale datasets
• Design, implement, and validate your solutions in Apache Spark and Scala on a large state-of-the-art cluster
• Work with our Engineering teams to integrate your solutions into Conversant’s platform
• Participate fully in our collaborative approach to research and applications projects

• A Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
• Experience in parallel programming
• Prior experience in Spark and Scala is desirable but not required
• Experience in machine learning, artificial intelligence, or graph algorithms is a plus
• Experience in big data is a plus
• Experience in functional programming is a plus
• Experience in computational complexity is a plus
