Business Intelligence Architect

At Condé Nast we're building a new generation of data-driven advertising & editorial products. Our team works closely with engineering, data science, and internal business strategy teams as well as the CN suite of brands to craft incredible new technologies.

• Evaluate the business intelligence landscape from a technology/platform standpoint and lead the activities surrounding the design and development of an integrated BI platform
• Use expert knowledge of BI/DW technologies and business processes to provide in depth analysis of application/system
• Lead a team of BI developers to help create visually appealing and interactive solutions while guiding them with data modelling approaches
• Bring expertise of new technologies, platform and approaches in data architecture, data analytics including Big Data, unstructured data analysis, social network data analytics, etc.;??
• Work closely with the Data engineering and Data science team to make sure data structures and process in place for development
• Look for roadblock and possible technical challenges as we begin project delivery
• Analyze business requirements and provide end-to-end solution design for respective data foundation builds including but not limited Data Marts, Data Feeds, Data Warehouse Subject Areas, etc.??
• Assist in determining long term roadmap and executing the BI strategy
• Proactively recommend and implement enhancements and/or upgrades and ensure that architecture and technology standards are in place
• Interview stakeholders and assist in the development of BI roadmap for success given project prioritization and budget

• BS in Computers Science /Information Systems preferred but appropriate business/technical experience acceptable
• 5+ years of experience delivering business intelligence solutions preferred
• 3+ years of experience with OLTP and OLAP database models preferred
• 3+ years of experience in various forms of data modeling, including relational and star schema preferred
• 2+ years managing technical resources including goal setting, performance evaluations, work allocations, and performance.
• Strong understanding of data acquisition, cleansing and integrations processes (ETL, ELT)
• Must be proficient in developing and troubleshooting SQL
• Experience with data modelling methodologies a plus
• Experience with Java, PHP, HTML, JavaScript ,d3 a plus
• Excellent communication skills are needed with demonstrated ability to work with multiple organizational functions and levels
