- Develop and execute strategically based, integrated communications plans that support and advance key institutional initiatives and represent research operations across multiple departments and divisions.
- Develop and execute strategically based, integrated communications plans that support and advance key institutional initiatives and represent research operations across multiple departments and divisions.
- Develop annual budgets for research communications. Make recommendations and track media, advertising and other budget items (i.e. collateral) within budget parameters.
- Recognize research developments and use these breakthroughs to differentiate City of Hope in online and print assets including repurposing stories into news articles, staff and physician newsletters, brochures, web content, fact sheets, social media, blogs articles for various City of Hope publications.
- Responsible for identifying, reporting and analyzing key performance indicators using a variety of applications, such as online and offline marketing.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Healthcare, Journalism, English or a related field. Specialization in research/science communications preferred.
Minimum Experience
- Seven years of communications experience.

Four years in scientific or hospital/healthcare setting preferred
Preferred Education
- MBA preferred
Skills/Abilities:

Good working knowledge of all aspects of public relations, writing, editing, media relations, advertising, marketing and business development. Ability to translate highly technical/scientific concepts to a lay audience.
