The IT Security Specialist will be responsible for IT Security (ITSec) to include but not limited to: daily alert review for anti-virus, file integrity, SIEM and IDS/IPS, as well as remediation efforts. Also responsible for the documentation of tickets, alerts, and incident response.

- Serve as an internal security subject matter expert while interfacing with applicable departments, groups, and individuals on relevant security initiatives and concerns
- Maintain and ensure that security systems sufficiently and consistently perform and fulfill current security needs
- Manages and is primarily responsible for the following ITSec alerts: Host IPS, Logging and event correlation/SIEM, File Integrity Monitoring, Endpoint Application Whitelisting, and Rogue host detection
- Fulfill Tier 1 escalation of Security issues and incidents. Responsible for escalation of all Incident Response issues to Tier 2 security
- Maintain documented policies and procedures specific to areas of responsibility
- Responsible for applicable compliance related documentation and analysis as required by internal IT Security, IT Governance, and/or external authorities and regulatory bodies in area of responsibility
- B.A./B.S. in the IT field

Or 2+ years of experience in the field of IT

Knowledge of and the ability to use a PC as well as Microsoft Office Suite
- Understands the concepts of network and host security components, monitoring, and operations
- Ability to learn to use various security tools to monitor changes and respond to threats, alerts, incident response, event correlation, and escalation
- Ability to learn investigate and report on anomalies and incidents to their logical and truthful conclusion
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task, and serve as a team player in a fast-paced environment with the ability to jump in and help out in areas outside of expertise if necessary
- Ability to manage priorities and projects
