The Microbiology Laboratory Technician will be accountable for supporting the environmental monitoring (EM) program through routine microbiological testing and sampling, data entry and analysis. This key role will work with the Quality group to ensure EM data is maintained and timely results are submitted.
- Responsible for independently conducting microbiological testing of the controlled environment(s) to include reading plates to determine the number of organisms in the sample and total particulate count monitoring
- Data entry into EM software and analysis
- Evaluation of data trends
- Author document revisions
- Manage individual training
- Forms conclusions based on data and analysis and makes decisions, as appropriate and forward to management
- Preparation of quarterly EM reports
- Participation in audit preparation activities
- Participate in validation activities
- Ensure laboratory readiness for routine testing
- Restock laboratories with reagents, supplies and media and sustain these items for routine testing
- 1-3 years of laboratory experience required with basic knowledge of microbiology
- Bachelor’s Degree – Life Sciences or Engineering, (chemistry, biology, or microbiology) preferred
- Experience with clean room manufacturing and aseptic gowning
- A strong background in clean room environmental testing
- Able to adapt to a cGMP regulated environment
- Ability to independently analyze data and make decisions based on findings as well as coordinate with cross functional groups
- Strong computer skills required including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong organizational skills
