Summary

Professional who understands the principles of performance evaluation and prediction to improve facility equipment / systems safety, reliability and maintainability. A key member of the Centre of Excellence and is responsible for bringing an analytical engineering focus to the team. Role supporting plant, research & development and office space.

Responsibilities
  • Work under the direction of Technical Operations Group with primary responsibility for reliability and maintainability (R&M) projects of broad scope and complexity.
  • Provides ongoing research for new products, processes and tools available within the industry and beyond the industry that may be appropriate for the account.
  • Translate the research conducted into appropriate recommendations.
  • Create and develop technical approaches, which are responsive and aligned to customer's maintenance requirements.
  • Ensure that approaches are statistically valid and are aligned with current state-or-the-art practices and contractual requirements.
  • Develop work-study programs and work flow diagrams.
  • Interpret R&M statistical data and draw conclusions with supporting rationales.
  • Recommend design or test methods and statistical process control procedures to understand the levels of reliability.
  • Comply and analyze performance reports and process control statistics; investigate and analyze relevant variables potentially affecting systems, product and processes
  • Provide continuing technical guidance to operations regarding R&M characteristics of equipment, including failure and maintenance support characteristics to ensure that design activity results in equipment and systems that meet high reliability, maintainability, system safety and human factors standard.
  • Oversee and execute root-cause failure analysis program.
  • Provide input to life cycle cost models relative to R&M elements.
  • Review, where applicable subcontractor’s proposals for reliability program.
  • Work with account teams during design phase of new equipment projects.
  • Administers programs, such as Thermography, vibration analysis, lube oil monitoring, for the site and regionally.
  • Implement owner requested maintenance programs (boiler safety upgrades, implement a legionella program, high voltage electrical safety upgrades)
  • Provide innovation ideas of new tech/process’ to reduce downtime or efficiency of the maintenance staff
  • Overseeing Capital planning based on risk for each site in the account
  • Review critical equipment for the correct preventative maintenance tasks
  • Maintains on-going communication with clients, owners, facility management team and vendors.
  • Implements and administers inventory control programs/purchase parts and supplies.
  • Develops specifications and assists in solicitation and administration of maintenance/repair service contracts.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable codes, requisitions, government agencies and company directives as relates to building operations. Other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
  • University degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 6 Years minimum experience. 3-4 years maintenance / reliability supervisory experience.
  • Hands on maintenance and supervisory experience in a multi-process industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to employ predictive maintenance technology (vibration analysis, infrared analysis, ultrasonic analysis, etc.) with electrical and electronic systems knowledge and experience.
  • Experience in Six Sigma preferred. Excellent planning, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • MS Office literacy required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Previous experience with a CMMS (Maximo or SAP equivalent).
  • Experience in Maximo or another CMMS
