Summary

Responsible for conducting and documenting simple to moderate standard financial analysis and ad hoc finance projects.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Assists in preparation of special studies, analysis, and recommendations in areas such as budgets, forecasts, financial plans, statistical reports, and business forecasts.
  • Focuses on working with construction project management software and serves as the primary owner of capital project reporting and analysis. There will be great exposure in working with a variety of internal and external customers, and extreme attention to detail is necessary to succeed in this position.
  • Supports the supervisor with the month-end closing process.
  • Includes review and coordination of financial analysis across different departments and/or regions/ business lines in support of Finance management.
  • Prepares specific program deliverables – presentations, graphs, reports, and dashboards – for internal department and client meetings.
  • Acts as liaison between project management team and account leadership on capital project budget status updates.
  • Researches and collects input from multiple internal and external resources as required.
  • Compile a variety of financial and statistical information as needed to respond to management requests.
  • Analyzes capital project reports and prepares commentary and explanation of variances for management review.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to co-workers. May coordinate and assign tasks to co-workers within a work unit and/or project.

  • Decisions made with understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Responsible for setting own project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.
Ideal Candidate

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree(BA/BS) in Accounting, Finance or Economics from four-year college or university with a minimum of three (3) years related work experience.
  • Experience with reports such as actual vs. budget, project progress, revenue generation, project profit, project resource allocation and forecasting a plus.
  • Prior experience in the commercial real estate industry preferred.

Certificates And/Or Licenses

  • None.

Communication Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to provide efficient, timely,reliable and courteous service to customers.
  • Ability to effectively present information to supervisors, finance management, and client personnel.

Financial Knowledge

  • Requires knowledge of basic financial terms, concepts and accounting principles.
  • Previous experience with financial management of capital projects is beneficial.
  • Experience with reports such as actual vs. budget, project progress, revenue generation, project profit, project resource allocation and forecasting a plus.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret financial information and the ability to accurately explain/report activity in verbal and written communications.

Other Skills And/Or Abilities

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Computer skills, including specific knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel,Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Intermediate to Advanced proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint is required.
  • Expesite and/or JD Edwards software experience are a plus.
  • Strong work ethic and adaptable.
  • Positive attitude and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure with multiple/competing deadlines.
