Summary

CarGurus is looking for a highly motivated Director of Business Development who will report directly to the SVP of Business Development. The Business Development “Guru” will be excited to seek out new partners, build relationships, and negotiate deals. This person will also cultivate existing partnerships to ensure their continued success and discover new opportunities to maximize revenue and data synergies.

Responsibilities
  • Identify opportunities to maximize existing partnerships
  • Negotiate agreements with new partners and periodically re-negotiate existing contracts
  • Attend industry Trade-shows/conferences to meet with existing and potential partners and present the CarGurus brand to dealers.
  • Support existing CarGurus wholesale and data partnerships
  • Expand partnerships with OEMs to grow inventory and co-op programs
  • Develop partnerships with inventory hosts
  • Create programs with partners to leverage CarGurus assets
  • Develop processes to analyze CarGurus performance with dealers
  • Manage Senior Associate of Business Development
Ideal Candidate
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
  • Ability to manage projects of various size and scope simultaneously while prioritizing appropriately
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, public speaking engagements will be required
  • Self-starter and ability to work independently
  • Ability to effectively liaise with internal teams
  • Experience negotiating contracts
  • Direct management experience preferred
  • Good sense of humor and likes working in an unstructured, fast-paced environment
  • Some travel required
  • Bachelor’s degree and MBA required
