Summary
BuzzFeed’s looking for a smart, creative, and socially-savvy individual to help manage and support Social Media Outreach operations within our Social Discovery team. This candidate will create new and effective ways to extend the social presence of our clients. S/he will be ready to become the brains, hands, and voice driving social media strategy and analysis, and day-to-day execution of community management and outreach. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a dynamic start-up environment, bring energy and passion to everything they do, and will not be afraid to roll up his/her sleeves to tackle projects both big and small. Responsibilities
* Day-to-day tasks consist of organic promotion, strategic planning, creative development, trafficking, optimization, reporting and analysis * Diligently follow social media product updates and offerings and serve as the definitive expert in the space * Support our Account Management team through developing strategies for organically seeding our brand partner’s BuzzFeed content both on our branded social media channels as well as on our brand partner’s social media channels. * Serve as the liaison between the Outreach team and other departments within the organization, working very closely alongside the Account Management, Ad Operations, Sales and Creative teams * Continually test and evaluate new strategies, tactics, and partnership opportunities in an effort to evolve and improve our product offering * Identify key influencers and partnerships relative to our clients content. Target those influencers through social media mentions and/or direct contact (FB direct messaging, email, phone, etc.). * Help expand our social media presence both within existing platforms (fan growth) as well as through exploring growth opportunities in new platforms.
Ideal Candidate
* 4+ years experience working in Social Media, either on the agency, publisher or brand side with an ability to demonstrate a strong understanding of major Social Media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, Instagram, LinkedIn, Vine). * Proficient understanding of how all social platforms work - including emerging platforms such as Pinterest and Instagram * Strong quantitative skills, including in-depth understanding of Facebook insights, Twitter Analytics, and experience with third party analytics vendors * High level of attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize demands and meet deadlines. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Proven analytical and creative problem-solving skills * Detail oriented individual who is highly organized, and an efficient time manager * Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
