President, Broadtree Home Rentals

Based in Rochester, NY, Broadstone Real Estate, LLC, is a leading manager of real estate investments. Founded by Norman Leenhouts and Amy and Bob Tait, Broadstone carries on the legacy of integrity and innovation that has produced results for decades. Broadstone currently offers two private real estate investment offerings to accredited investors including Broadstone Net Lease, Inc. REIT and Broadtree Homes, Inc.

The President of Broadtree Home Rentals will lead an emerging organization that currently acquires and manages single family homes for rental and is expanding its scope to include additional forms of residential rental housing. Headquartered in Rochester, New York, the company presently manages over 300 single family homes in four states, with the expectation that the operations will continue to expand into several additional Eastern and Central US states and that Broadtree will become a diversified residential fund including both multifamily apartment and single family rental homes. Further diversification could be achieved over time with the potential consideration of other residential asset classes. Broadtree Home Rentals is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Broadstone Real Estate, an established real estate investment and management company that also operates 270 commercial properties in 32 states and was founded by the same family that had previously formed Home Properties, Inc.* Broadstone Real Estate (including Broadtree Home Rentals) serves as the external manager for Broadtree Homes, a private equity residential fund REIT.

The ideal candidate will bring experience and expertise in acquiring, renovating, leasing and managing single family home and/or multifamily apartment rentals on a scalable basis. He or she will have the entrepreneurial drive to lead a team and build an operating platform that can support a portfolio of thousands of homes/units, with policies and procedures that can provide information to satisfy the needs of institutional and/or public company investors. A significant portion of the position’s compensation will be based on successful implementation of an aggressive growth plan.

This person will have excellent communication skills and solid financial and analytical skills, with a Master’s in Business Administration being a strong plus. He or she must be exceedingly well organized, flexible and able to work well with external investors and independent board members, as well as with all levels of internal management and staff, including regional teams that are geographically dispersed. The president role is based in Rochester, NY and the individual must be able to travel without significant notice. This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer of Broadstone Real Estate. • Collaborate with the existing management team to update and implement a strategic plan to grow Broadtree Home Rentals and Broadtree Homes
• Hire, retain and supervise a team of professionals to acquire, renovate, lease and manage a growing portfolio of single family rentals homes and multifamily apartment rentals in multiple geographic markets through regional offices and/or through external third party contractors
• Assist other members of senior management that are responsible for raising debt and equity capital to fund the acquisition of additional single family and multifamily portfolios
• Prepare for and make presentations to the board of directors of Broadtree Homes
• Assist in preparing quarterly communications to shareholders in Broadtree Homes
• Monitor the progress in achieving goals established in the strategic plan, and make adjustments to strategy as appropriate
• Oversee the documentation and implementation of all policies and procedures, and adjust as needed to meet market conditions
• Establish and preserve a culture of customer satisfaction in serving residents
• Oversee relationships with third party service providers, including construction contractors, management companies, insurance providers, real estate brokers, legal and title services, software and accounting providers, appraisers, etc.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Seasoned executive with managerial start up experience, including experience with residential property management on a scalable basis
• Team player adept at coordinating, monitoring and inspiring others to meet goals on a timely basis
• Strong ability to underwrite, negotiate and complete property financial analyses and make complex investment decisions
• M&A and business integration experience a plus
• Experience in dealing with large amounts of data and information in an efficient manner
• Technologically savvy
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong presentation skills
• Solid work ethic and professional, proactive and positive approach to work
• Ability to handle the stress and flexibility required to operate in a start-up company in an emerging industry
• Able to successfully prioritize and manage multiple projects, handle frequent changes effectively and professionally and follow through on issues in a timely manner
• Self-driven and motivated to perform with limited day-to-day supervision
• Willing and able to travel when necessary. At times, travel may be on short notice and/or for multiple days.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree with MBA strongly preferred
• 10+ years’ experience in the residential real estate rental space, with experience in single family home rentals a plus
• Experience in managing an organization or large team of employees
