Summary

Broadridge is growing! We are actively recruiting for a Facilities Maintenance Mechanic in our Kansas City location. This role is in our Customer Communications Division, which offers a full range of multi-channel communications solutions, such as integrated print, mail and digital solutions for transactional, marketing and compliance communications. As the Facilities Maintenance Mechanic you will be responsible for executing building construction projects as directed and general maintenance. You will be responsible for mechanical repairs and installations and general building maintenance/cleaning. You will perform specialized tasks related to the building's HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and painting maintenance.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshooting and performing preventative maintenance on the facility and equipment.
  • Inspecting the interior and exterior of the building daily to ensure all presentable and is in good working order.
  • Coordinating and discussing projects with the Facilities Manager on a daily basis; conducting or assisting with job site meetings.
  • Tracking financial aspects of projects, reviewing and monitoring contractor invoices.
Ideal Candidate
  • High school diploma required.
  • 5 years of recent experience in building construction/project management, repairs and alterations.
  • Basic understanding of electrical and HVAC mechanical concepts, plumbing and carpentry.
  • Knowledge of construction management practices and safety requirements for heavy construction projects.
  • Ability to read and apply design specifications (blue prints); knowledge of Auto-CAD is a plus.
  • Ability to complete tasks as scheduled and within budget while being thorough and paying attention to details; ability to prioritize, multitask and be have a can-do attitude.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and general computer knowledge (MS Office suite) required.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with customers, vendors and employees at all levels of the organization. Ability to display professional demeanor in a field environment.
  • Ability to effectively work without supervision at times.
  • Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds, move in and around construction sites, use ladders to access roofs and underground areas.
  • Flexible for overtime as required and able to consistently work a 1st shift Monday - Friday position.
