The Risk Management Associate is responsible for a variety of assigned duties, responsibilities, and studies throughout the Finance and Administration, Trust, and Credit Divisions. The associate will participate in an intense, 24-month program that rotates on a six-month basis between four general areas: Risk Management, Mergers and Acquisitions, Managerial Accounting and Trust Investments. Successful candidates will develop analytical, operational, and financial skills to prepare for a career in finance and risk management.
- Participates in four different departments throughout a 24-month intern. General focus is on risk measurement, monitoring and model development, with specific tasks assigned by each department for the relevant period.
- Completes six months of training in the area of Risk Management: performing daily position evaluation and tracking, monthly statistical updates, and quarterly reporting for board committees.
- Conducts various modeling and analytical initiatives at the direction of the Manager, Securities and Market Risk Management.
- Completes six months of training in the area of Mergers and Acquisitions: performing various peer analyses and back-testing initiatives at the direction of the Manager, Mergers and Acquisitions.
- Completes six months of training while working with Trust Investments: performing regular credit analysis work.
- Conducts various modeling and analytical initiatives at the direction of the Manager, Trust Investments.
- Completes six months of training in the area of Managerial Accounting: performing quarterly financial analysis of BOKF and its peers.
- Conducts various sophisticated capital optimization and modeling and analytical initiatives at the direction of the Chief Financial Officer.
This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Physics, Finance, Economics or equivalent course load with a liberal arts degree. Candidates must be approved for entry into an accredited University's Masters of Science in Finance.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Good interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational, analytical, and teamwork skills
- Advanced quantitative skills in the fields of applied mathematics, physics, statistics, portfolio management or other similar disciplines.
- Advanced computer skills with Excel add-ons and/or quantitative programs
Preferences:
- Good leadership skills
- Quantitative mathematical skills necessary
- Accounting familiarity helpful
