Senior Network Engineer

- Design, engineer, develop and deploy network infrastructure in the wide area network
- Work closely with network operations, data center team and other groups to monitor, manage and maintain our global network
- Provide escalated support and troubleshooting to maintain high availability and performance of the network
- Employ innovative thought and automation to improve workflow, efficiency, productivity and technology deployment
- Pro actively identify technology gaps and develop and implement appropriate solutions collaboratively
- Create and maintain clear and accurate network documentation
- Develop network and processes conform to approved standards
- Stay familiar with relevant current and future technologies and trends
- 6+ years of network design and engineering experience on an advanced network
- 2+ years of programming/scripting experience (Python and/or Perl preferred)
- Extensive experience with large L3/L2 network design and development
- Extensive experience with IOS, JunOS and hardware
- Extensive knowledge of routing and switching concepts and technology
- Extensive knowledge and experience with BGP and OSPF
- Extensive knowledge of MPLS and BGP/MPLS IPVPN
- Extensive knowledge of QoS and queuing theory
- Excellent and rapid network troubleshooting and repair skills
- Excellent communication skills and experience working collaboratively with NOCs, systems software developers and administrators
- Education: BS/MS (CS/EE preferred)
- Working knowledge of any of virtualization technologies such as kvm/xen/lxc is a plus
- Experience with Internet connectivity infrastructure such as firewalls, load sharing devices, proxies, intrusion prevention/ detection, VPN and network and traffic analysis etc.
- Familiarity with systems management concepts, processes and standards (e.g. SNMP), capacity /performance management and tuning and network management.
- Experience in a 24/7/365, multi-tiered production environment.
- Knowledge/Experience with LAN and WAN design and switching technologies in a corporate environment.
