Summary

Bleacher Report, 2nd largest sports website and home of the most minutes/users among sports apps in the U.S. (comScore), is seeking a Backend Engineer (Rails) with a passion for system architecture and shipping code. Imagine designing and creating services that power the leading digital destination of real-time event coverage. Tackling hard problems while collaborating with smart people in an awesome office environment. Sharing your technical expertise while gaining exposure to the latest technologies.

Responsibilities
  • You will build and launch new features and services for the Bleacher Report platform using Ruby on Rails, Rails 4, Elixir and Phoenix.
  • You will work closely with Product Managers to understand requirements and come up with solutions.
  • You will learn the challenges of operating and maintaining a high-volume Rails site.
  • You will deploy code weekly
  • You will work closely with a top-notch engineering team.
Ideal Candidate
  • Must have 3+ years of Ruby/Rails experience writing APIs
  • Experience with using or implementing OAuth2
  • Experience with microservices or SOA concepts
  • Ability to work on features independently
  • Strong Rspec or Minitest experience
  • Some experience with Elixir or Phoenix or a willingness to learn
  • Experienced with PostgreSQL or MySQL
  • Third-party API integration experience
  • Ability to work across engineer teams to develop services
  • Strong desire to document code and APIs
