Design Intern

Birchbox is beauty made easy. Founded in 2010, we redefined the way people shop for beauty and grooming by pairing a monthly delivery of personalized samples with original content and a robust e-commerce shop. We partner with the best brands in the industry, from mainstream favorites to niche up-and-comers, and use a proprietary algorithm to send the right products to the right people, based on their profiles and preferences.

Birchbox is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic design intern to work closely with its creative team. This is a great opportunity for a student or recent graduate to be engaged with a fast-paced, exciting in-house design team. The candidate will work closely with the creative team and help with a range of projects, from assisting with print and packaging needs to helping create digital assets. We are looking for someone who loves design but is not afraid to get his/her hands dirty and would be excited to help with any project, whether prepping digital assets for production, assisting with a photoshoot or setting up event signage. The right person will possess excellent design skills, have a meticulous eye for detail, and be excited to better understand the lifecycle of creative work at Birchbox.

• Creating Birchbox website assets
• Assisting with new package design and box production assets
• Creating designs for digital marketing promotions and social media
• Assisting the photo team as needed
• Resizing imagery and prepping files for production
• Assisting with internal design projects
• Assisting the designers pull design and pattern inspiration
• Ideating engaging and fun concepts for our monthly marketing campaigns

• Current undergrad student or recent graduate of design
• Interest in digital design and print design
• Great typography
• Skilled in Adobe CS6
• Skilled in creating comps
• Former intern experience at an in-house creative team is a major plus
