Responsible for converting raw material requisitions into Purchase Orders from contracted suppliers; coordinating logistic activities to deliver and maintain adequate inventory levels for site production needs.
- Manage, use and maintain MRP
- Manage inventory levels and safety stocks
- Process requirements from planning to meet the raw material demands of the site
- Release and follow up on raw materials purchase orders to suppliers
- Coordinate with suppliers the required delivery dates or delivery of materials
- Coordinate the carriers availability to pick up the materials with corporate transportation department
- Review inventory /warehouse space available on site for receiving materials
- Maintain updated communication of scheduled receipts with the warehouse and production departments
- Follow up with carriers delivering materials
- Process service complaints with suppliers
- Follow up on quality complaints with suppliers.
- Communicate with Planning and Production of any relevant change
- Creation of weekly and monthly reports of supplier performance
- Administration of external locations if needed
- Follow-up to the special needs of plant
- Communicate all supplier issues to appropriate Supply Chain manager/ Site Manager
- Process and manage the return of product to the supplier after buyer decision
- Keep purchasing department informed of any sudden demand changes
- Participate in operations/site projects including inventory budgeting
- Committed to providing a safe food product
- Works within all regulatory requirements
- Ability to adhere to GMP practices and all other food safety requirements
- Perform all other related duties as required
- Cross train all team members.
- Associates degree or equivalent plus a minimum of five years of relevant experience in manufacturing
- Excel, SAP and MRP experience as well as proven math skill.
- Teamwork and cooperation - be part of the team and work together for ideas and opinions of planning and decision making.
- Flexibility and initiative - Ability to adapt and work effectively in a variety of situations. Ability to display proactive reasoning required.
- Focus on order, quality and accuracy
- Ability to move freely around the entire factory floor.
