To attract new customers, to serve existing customers both in person and by telephone; to provide the kind of service which would make people want to do business with Bank of the Ozarks.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Count cash and coins with accuracy.
  • Open checking accounts, savings accounts, certificates of deposit and IRAs.
  • Order checks and deposit tickets.
  • Sell bank products and services.
  • Make referrals to the Mortgage and Trust Divisions, Investment Professionals, Inc. and First Data, Inc.
  • Respond to and follow-up with customer inquiries, complaints, and problems.
  • Type and mail new customer letters.
  • Approve checks/deposits up to the limit set by bank policy and the manager.
  • Ensure branch facility is opened and closed according to proper procedures as assigned or needed.
  • Handle opening, closing, and maintenance of safe deposit boxes. Responsible for the collection efforts and drilling of past due safe deposits.
  • Handle branch security issues in absence of manager.
  • Arrive at work promptly as scheduled, following written security procedures.
  • Provide assistance to customers in lobby, drive-through, and over the telephone.
  • Accurate utilization of the teller system and computer system.
  • Preparation of Cashier’s Checks, Gift Cards and daily reconciliation of such items.
  • Regular use of fax, copier, check protector, and currency counter.
  • Weekly balancing of ATM.
  • With a high level of accuracy, reconcile teller cash drawer each day of use.
  • Work closely with support personnel in researching customer requests.
  • Complete all required training and re-training.
  • Perform assigned duties or train at another branch as needed.
  • Adhere to written bank policies and procedures as directed.
  • Maintain good punctuality and attendance to work.

Marginal Duties:

  • Order supplies
  • Process loose coin through automatic coin machine
  • Strap and bundle currency to be sold to the Federal Reserve Bank
  • Have working knowledge of Word and Excel in order to compile reports
  • Familiarity with consumer lending application process
Ideal Candidate

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum six (6) months documented cash handling experience
  • Minimum six (6) months documented customer service experience
  • Ability to operate a 10-key calculator
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous banking experience preferred
