Performance Expectations - Support the leadership of a collaborative school community effort to define and fulfill the school’s vision, mission and school improvement plan aligned with our BCPS Blueprint 2.0 system wide goals. - Provide instructional leadership for the implementation of the curriculum of the Baltimore County Public Schools - Monitor and plan for equitable outcomes across student groups - Maintain a safe and positive school culture and climate that fosters learning and respect - Participate in developing and administering the school’s budget in line with the school’s priorities and school improvement plan - Infuse effective and relevant technology into the development and delivery of lesson plans - Assist in the hiring, development, coaching and evaluation of school based staff - Develop and cultivate strong relationships with students, staff, parents and community leaders - Contribute to the development and success of Baltimore County Public Schools’ initiatives
Ideal Candidate
Qualifications: - A focus on serving students and staff in the pursuit of outstanding student achievement - Three (3) years of exceptional teaching experience with impressive student achievement gains and a record of believing in all students - Informal or formal school-based leadership beyond the classroom. - Master’s degree from an accredited institution - MSDE Advanced Professional Certificate with Admin I endorsement or for out-of-state candidates a valid leadership or school building leadership certification - Demonstrated ability to provide valued organizational leadership and management - Knowledge and understanding of the Common Core Curriculum, curriculum development, child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, and learning assessments - Demonstrated ability to provide rubric-based, customized and impactful instructional coaching - Skilled in the analysis, interpretation and use of school performance data - Experience being highly successful and effective with diverse staff and student populations - Capable at effectively using a number of software programs including Microsoft Office programs, Student Management Systems and other school-level technology platforms - Professional oral and written communication skills - Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required Pre-Employment Requirements: - All persons employed by the Baltimore County Public Schools, regular and temporary, are required to be fingerprinted and have a criminal background investigation (State of Maryland, Senate Bill 315, effective October 1, 1986) completed. The fee charged for fingerprinting is $70.50. An identification card will be issued which must be shown prior to employment. - Anyone offered employment is required to provide proper identification and documentation of eligibility for employment in the US. - If you have military experience you will be asked to provide a copy of DD214. - Some positions will require employees to undergo a physical examination and/or drug testing. - All newly hired personnel must attend a New Hire Orientation session. - Additional job verification will be required for salary credit.
