As an Analytics Software Developer, you will be responsible for advancing software solutions and analytics to support the clean-tech power revolution. Your strong analytical skills and ability to develop innovative problem solving solutions will support mission critical decision analytics for renewable and traditional power providers around the globe. Additional responsibilities will include developing feature enhancements to model the financial and physical uncertainties of power generation, load, energy markets and commodities. We're looking for talented individuals with a serious commitment to software development, empirical modeling and large data analytics.
- Solve complex analytic problems to make mission critical decisions for energy supply
- Apply leading software development practices and standards to develop robust and maintainable software
- Develop abstract analytic models to solve complex problems for decision analysis
- Maintain an active role in every part of the software development life cycle
- Optimize and enhance computational efficiency of algorithms and software design
- Design data structures and visualization of results to provide users actionable intelligence and situational awareness of supporting data
- Interact directly with customers on new features for future product releases
- Provide thought leadership to software design and solutions
- Provide technical support internally and externally
- Communicate technical design verbally and written
Skills & Knowledge
- Proficiency with analytic software programming (SAS, R, Python or other languages)
- Mathematical and statistical programming
- Familiarity with relational databases (Oracle and MS SQL)
- Analytic programming, economics, including knowledge of stochastic processes, econometrics, statistics, Monte Carlo simulation, power supply, optimization, and numerical methods
- Analytic reasoning and complex problem solving involving mathematical programming and big data
- Understanding of parallel computing
Education & Experience
- BS, MS or Ph.D. in Computer Research Science, Statistics, Operations Research, or related field; higher degrees encouraged
- Strong background and interest in software engineering
