Senior Server Engineer

AmTrust Financial Services, Inc., through its subsidiaries, operates as a multinational property and casualty insurance company. Founded in 1998 to provide workers’ compensation insurance to small businesses in the United States, the company now operates in three segments around the globe: Small Commercial Business Insurance, Specialty Risk and Extended Warranty, and Specialty Middle-Market Property and Casualty Program Insurance.

Senior Server Engineer will design and implement new solutions to enhance our virtual environments.

Provide infrastructure team with server virtualization advice and architecture, during design, project and other initiatives. Responsible for help desk tickets that have been escalated to the engineer team, ensuring timely responses and SLAs. Work hand in hand with storage team and developers to solve issues across environments. Communicate with developers, vendors and other team members to maximize resources and maintain support. Anticipates disk, CPU and other hardware needs, both virtual and physical, working with vendors to gather appropriate quotes and upper management to set budgets and obtain approvals.

Primary Skills:

• ESXi, ESX, vSphere and vCenter administration and patching (versions 4.x and 5.x)
• In depth applied knowledge of monitoring vOPs, VM tuning and capacity planning
• Strong communications skills
• Expert knowledge of SAN (FC, iSCSI) and NAS (NFS, CIFS) technologies. (NetApp preferred, but not required)
• Strong Windows Server technologies know-how (2012, 2008 R2)
• VCP/VCAP preferred
• P2V experience
• General understanding of distributed computing concepts, including the principles of network
• routing and data center switching.
