Electrical Engineer

This position is responsible for the design of communication and control of the Positive Train Control System.

• Must be capable of designing automation systems, and developing solutions to individual circuit problems
• Must be familiar with Software Development, Quality Assurance, and Configuration Management
• Prepares PTC design databases
• Assists field personnel with understanding and resolving problems
• Prepares aspect charts to show the signal orientation
• Ensures ACSES design files database is currently and properly maintained

Work Experience:

• Strong working knowledge of railroad signal circuit plan symbols, nomenclature, and circuit logic
• Significant experience with electrical circuit designs
• Knowledge of radio and telecommunication Systems
• Knowledge of mathematics and Boolean algebra as it applies to relay logic
• Knowledge of how to translate computer programming into circuit plans or relay logic
• Knowledge of software system design concepts and processes
• Familiar with Computer Aided Drafting and Design Applications
• Must communicate with field personnel to ensure accuracy of signal system designs
• Assists field personnel with design and implementation issues

Preferred Work Experience:

• Significant experience in C&S construction/maintenance of railroad signal facilities and knowledge of railroad signal system design
• Background in Train Control and Monitoring; Railroad Signaling; Automation, Database
• Field knowledge of C&S construction and maintenance
• Experience using Bentley MicroStation Applications
