Summary

Amplify is looking for an Intern Psychometrician to join our team for approximately 20 hours/week beginning in April, through June of 2017. The Intern Psychometrician will work as part of a research team on a variety of projects involving classroom assessment, instructional interventions, and instructional technology. The hired candidate will employ a wide range of statistical methodologies in order to support evidence for the reliability and validity of Amplify's literacy and numeracy products and services. Additionally, the Intern Psychometrician will contribute to the design of field testing and data collection procedures, analysis, and report generation and dissemination.

Responsibilities
  • With support, respond to questions from the test development team about test quality
  • Download and manage data according to our policy on use and sharing of PII
  • Implement psychometric models for analyzing data
  • Contribute to technical documentation and internal research reports
Ideal Candidate

Basic Qualifications of the Psychometrician Intern:

  • Doctoral student with sufficient course training in a relevant field (Quantitative Psychology, Educational Measurement & Statistics, Psychometrics, etc.)
  • 2+ years of applied research experience
  • Proven understanding of the foundations of psychometrics including classical test theory and item response theory
  • Experience in using R to: clean and prepare data, run basic descriptive analyses, run psychometric analysis, prepare internal reports ?

Preferred Qualifications of the Psychometrician Intern:

  • Demonstrated skills in designing and conducting research studies
  • A desire to pursue a career in educational technology
  • Subject-matter interest in early (K-8) literacy and/or numeracy
  • Familiarity with Observational Assessments and Progress Monitoring
