(Glendale, California)American is an Investment manager to institutional investors and with over $6 billion in assets under management, has provided real estate investment management services for over 26 years utilizing core and value-added commingled funds and separate accounts.
- Working closely with the Managing Director, the Real Estate Consulting Analyst will coordinate and execute consulting assignments for American’s pension fund clients nationwide.

Typical assignments may include, but are not limited to:
- pro forma analysis;
- development feasibility studies;
- market research;
- financial underwriting;
- real estate and portfolio valuation;
- analysis of due diligence documents;
- and strategic planning.
- Asset types may include industrial, office, retail, multifamily, or land.
- The Consulting Analyst will be responsible for research, analysis, report preparation, and presentation to Clients.
Skill Requirements
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, flexible, resourceful and ability to successfully manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, time-constrained, professional, team environment.
- Superb critical thinker and creative problem solver with strong analytical skills.
- Demonstrated financial modeling skills in Excel and preferably Argus.
- Excellent writing and oral communication skills and the ability to prepare and present written reports conveying findings and disclosing issues to a diverse audience.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to interact with diverse personality types.
- General knowledge of institutional real estate investment and transaction processes.
- General understanding of real estate fundamentals, including financial, physical, legal, and regulatory aspects of real estate investment and development.
- Familiarity with multiple asset types including retail, office, industrial and multi-family.
- Ability to understand and summarize basic details of key real estate and due diligence documents, including: contracts, leases, loan documents, appraisals, environmental reports, title documents, surveys, third-party consultant reports, plans, drawings, property operating statements, and budgets.
Experience Requirements
- 5 - 10 years of experience in commercial real estate investments (equity and/or debt).
- Undergraduate degree in related field (business, real estate, finance, and/or accounting).
- Graduate degree will be considered in place of required work experience.
