Graphic Designer / Illustrator

Alternative Apparel is looking for an experienced Graphic Designer/Illustrator to join the Marketing & Creative team. This person is responsible for producing original visual images for a wide range of products & channels. The designer takes an active, hands-on role in producing all graphics and working with team members such as the Art Director, Retail Director and our Marketing/Brand team. This important role requires advanced illustration skills coupled with strong technical abilities.

• Ability to combine art, design and creative skills to develop ideas and produce original visual images for a wide range of products
• Translate sketches into finished vector designs
• Responsible for file preparation
• Execute against several projects in a fast-paced environment
• Support the Art Director and overall creative team in producing: illustrations, vector graphics & in-house creative needs

• A degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts or a similar field
• 1-2 years’ experience in a design-related field
• Graphic tee experience is a plus
• Exceptional design talents with stylistic breadth in illustration
• Highly artistic with technical detail
• Ability to work from a brief, solve problems creatively and adapt style as needed
• Comfortable collaborating as well as working independently
• Very experienced with Adobe Creative Cloud (Especially Photoshop and Illustrator)
• Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and work well under pressure
• Must be able to take direction and work well in a team environment, as well as on your own
• Proven success working in a fluid and rapidly changing open team environment
• Hand-crafted skills and a passion for fashion, art, design and photography are preferred
