AGCO is currently seeking a Project Manager to oversee the development of a new machine diagnostics system. The position location is Hesston, KS. The Project Manager will manage development and integration of our next generation of electronics diagnostics tools and systems working with internal and external hardware, IT, service, and machine platform teams. The project is in progress, requirements are documented, and some development has started.
- Overall project integration management of technical development, testing, and release preparation
- Manage schedule, costs, quality, issue & risk management, communications, and other PMI project management functions
- Compiling product development deliverables for new product introduction gate reviews
- Work closely with the Service and Product development functions to define the product, manage changes, run pilot and coordinate the market introduction
- Keep agile software development teams in multiple organizations synchronized and delivering overall project features
- Communicate quality expectations to all development teams and hold each accountable for demonstrating their quality assurance processes
- Ensure team has an overall test plan and executes it. Work with testers to monitor progress, defects, and resolution of issues. Work with teams to ensure test data and hardware is available for test activities.
- Build relationships with all teams so that issues and risks are raised proactively, managed to closure, and project status is communicated in an open and timely way
- Lead weekly status meetings with all participating teams.
Required Qualifications of the Project Manager
- Minimum 5 years of software development project management experience. Software must have been released for customer use.
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing cross site or global projects
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly
- Ability to discuss issues, risks, and status with technical team members and get enough information to understand what the implications to the project are
- Strong problem solving skills
- Effective at encouraging teamwork and collaboration
- Effective at using online collaboration tools and teleconferencing facilities
- Ability to come up to speed quickly
- Ability to understand goals and scope, then work with little oversight
Preferred Experience of the Project Manager
- Experience with the development of electronic diagnostic systems in automotive or industrial vehicle industries.
- Experience with the development and deployment of systems requiring hardware and software development.
Education Requirement of the Project Manager
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Management Information Systems or a High School Diploma and 7+ years of experience of project management for software development
