The Applications Engineer is a technical expert on ABEC’s products, with strong knowledge of the biopharmaceutical clinical and commercial manufacturing industry.
- Advise Sales on product strategies for identified opportunities.
- Support Sales as an expert at meetings with clients.
- Train Sales on product capabilities and differentiation.
- Review client Requests for Proposals. Provide solutions to ABEC’s Project Management group for estimating. Provide proposal content.
- Review purchase orders/contracts. Recommend acceptance of orders if technically and commercially acceptable.
- Provide technical content for marketing tools (presentations, brochures, website content, etc.) for effective communication of ABEC product features, benefits, and differentiation.
- Advise on new product and product improvement opportunities.
- Support new product launches by providing marketing content, training Sales, and interfacing directly with potential customers.
- Track competitor capabilities and activities.
- Other duties as assigned by the VP Commercial Operations.
- BS Degree in Engineering.
- Minimum 7 years experience in the biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry in process/project engineering, equipment engineering/design, and/or clinical/commercial manufacturing operations.
- Ability to travel approximately 30% globally.
- Prior experience in Applications/Product Management/Product Marketing a plus.
- Strong knowledge of planning and execution of cGMP biopharmaceutical capital projects, from the early conceptual phase through qualification.
- Strong knowledge of bioprocess equipment (fermenters, bioreactors, filtration, chromatography, CIP, Single Use Systems, etc.).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
