Summary

The person hired for the position of Customer Service Software Engineer will be responsible for application maintenance and development using various languages, such as C#/Java/Perl/HTML5/AngularJS. Applications, such as standalone, web and web services, involve large volume of source code. This position will provide support on products to clients and customers. 3M Cogent is a leading high-tech development company in the fields of image processing, biometrics, automated fingerprint identification, and systems integration supports a worldwide customer base which includes law enforcement, civil government, and commercial customers.

Responsibilities

Develop and enhance existing biometric processing and identification product
Maintain and support existing biometric processing and identification product
Participate in full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) of new product development

Ideal Candidate

**Basic Qualifications:**

* High School Diploma/GED or higher from an accredited learning institution
* Experience in full Software Development Life Cycle

**Preferred Qualifications:**

* Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
* Experience in customer support and help desk operation
* Image or photo processing related user interface design and development experience;
* Client-server system integration experience;
* Familiar with Node.js, AngularJS, Javascript, Perl, HTML, HTML5
* Experience with Oracle or similar SQL products
* Web based and Java development 
* MS Windows, UNIX and Linux experience
* Peripheral device interface development
* Excellent ability in understanding large volume of source code 
* Team player
* Agile practice experience
* Excellent English communication skills
* Able and willing to work under pressure, extra hours if necessary
* Able and willing to travel for system installation and customer support
